    Default Whistle during hard acceleration

    Folks,

My 1.8VVTI has developed a high pitched whistling noise from the engine area whislt under heavy acceleration.

I have noticed this twice now, car idles is fine and drives really well. Could it be a leak in the air intake pipe/connection?

Could it be the flex pipe on the CAT? I used to have this too on my ex CDTI 120, and was convinced it was from the engine area. Later found the flex was totally scroooged and only discovered this whilst the car was in the air! Just a thought mate, but sometimes the fault lies elsewhere.

Good question mate, unless it was messing with emission, probably not but not 100% on that mate!

You will have stick you head in under the car just behind the front wheel to get a good view. If its got black soot all around one end, then its ******ed! Jack it up to get a proper view as the first time I checked mine i just tried to crawl underneath and that revealed nothing.
