Not broken, but showing the signs of wear/age as it does with the older type manifold.
Mine looked like that till i degreased and yet washed it, and promptly watched the rod fall off! Its not laying at the bottom and thats where its staying!! for now...

It looks ok just now as that rail is usually completely off if it is broken, although I would say it is starting to break as you have alot of oil and soot caused by the up and down movement of the swirl flap bearings.

Thank god for that, £500 is something i dont have right at the moment lol ive cleaned out the EGR valve and boost sensor soo hopefully this sorts out the power issues. Thanks for the replys guys, do u guys recommend degreasing the area around it carefully ?
not really no. Otherwise you'd possibly knock the rod off, its a PITA to get back on which is why i've left mine. also as i found out because of the up/down movement on it water can seep into the chamber too!! very bad....
