Talking Free work from local dealer

For the 2nd time in a row the dealer has done work that I haven't asked to be done.

Last years service they tried to charge me for a new sump plug as the old one was rounded off (according to them). Told them they should have told me before they did the work.

This service (today) they have re-gassed and dyed my A/C to find a fault even though I said I would leave it for now.

Result for me (even if the A/C only lasts a couple of weeks), just hope nobody gets into trouble for it.

Just need to find the time and money to fix the A/C now

Your being sarcastic like that but i actually did get a free job done on my car. It was having a puncture done or something and I asked them to have a look at a steering rack leak possibly from a banjo they did about 6 months ago... He popped his head out and said the other banjo is now leaking and he quickly did it in about 5mins whilst up in the air and sorted all out.. Nil charge
Plasma's Tech2 services are now open and able to provide services

A new sump plug is supposed to be fitted after an oil and filter change, the old one is removed and disposed of
There is also a seal that is replaced at the same time

Rover used to refit the old one, but quite often would do this so that the knackered one would need "more" labour

Every little helps. I called into a local Dealer yesterday for some advise & asked to speak to the Service Manager. Had a little issue back in March, which was sorted. I like to see people face-to-face & needed to thank him for listening to me over the phone & resolving the issues. Very pleased to see me & acknowledged the correspondence to the General Manager from me about his assistance ...........

I cant understand why everyone's sump plugs get knackered? Well I do, they get tightened up with an air gun and over done. Mine is the original and its perfect near enough. Pop some fresh oil on the thread, new rubber washer and always tighten it by hand, job done.

I think it was more a case they were trying to charge me labour for the time it took them to get the thing off.. probably took an extra 5 mins so that's about £100 in man hours for vx...

Forgot to say the first dealer said I needed , wiper linkage and a Tie Rod , also tried to charge me for new pads on front , as it was a service item and not covered under Network Q and I believed them?
