As I am currently machine polishing my car, now is the ideal oppertunity to get it looking spot on, I have seen black cars on here with a deeper shine than my Meguires GC and AG EGP has ever done, so...... what stuff is best to use on a black car...????

i don't polish my black Vec but on my Black Bike i use Auto Glym super resin polish and it brings the paint work up nice. You can see all the fleck sparkle in the sunlight. Gets rid of small scratches too.

I have used SRP and then the EGP but it still lacks that "something"...... SRP only masks light scratches and swirls as its a filler (rather than a cutter) - but is good to use for the quick option by hand.

Theres not a lot of paint work on a bike so cracking out an electric polisher is a bit OTT. ;^) I don't bother with car as its covered in stone chips and small scratches. it would take me ages to get it to how i would like it, and then i'd be a gibbering wreck everytime it got scratched again. looks good enough from ten paces away though. :-)

Thats what mine WAS like... used to annoy the hell out of me, so I decided a machine polish was needed - so I did it myself - its almost perfect now (just need to give it a true shine), but you are right - I sh*t myself now whenever I park it

Funny thing is the wife still craps herself when she accidently scratches our cars. i'm just past caring. I use to be really OCD on keeping the outside and inside clean but now i've got a little un and 2 dogs, i've admitted defeat. Its clean just not 3 hours worth of making the job look even better.

Black Hole and Banana Armor are rated highly. There is a thread on DW for each colour with product used and pic. Give us a tick and i'll see if I can find it.

We have a 16 month old boy (and a girl on the way) and I refuse to give in... just takes longer than it used it - thats all

But the Mrs is keen to give me time on the polisher as she see's £££ in her eyes as I could do it as a side - they are useful after all (polishers, not wives (hope she doesn't see this )).
