Well after a lot of messing about it finally works !
I tried the same method as in this thread but the light switch wouldn't operate the lights. What I did find was that there are two black wires from the CIM, one operates the ignition logic but the other operated the lights.
With the lights not working from the switch, I disconnected it and the lights still operated via the CIM. So I've now removed the light switch from the harness and it's operating fine with the use of the CIM & BCM
Happy Days !
thanks for your help![]()
When you say CIM, do you mean your own CIM, not a separate Vectra-C CIM?
Vectra-C CIM has two blacks.
One for ignition live and
One for accessory live.
Good to hear you got it sorted.
I went to the scrap yard & got the all the parts from a vec c - CIM REC BCM (even had the security code!).
It was all wired up as per what i'd found on TIS and your diagram but the lights would not operate via the switch... Still don't know why.. Out of daftness I even tried swapping the Vectra CIM for an old Astra one and that was the same - still no light function until I gave a 12v supply to the 2 black wires. What you've said is correct though, one is accessory & the other is ignition.
Anyway it's now in the van and working !
What type of cim have you used? part number? index? works it with scrollers?
It is mentioned in this thread on page 4.
Alpha code UY springs to mind...

Here you go - as mentioned in the thread in the link.
The CIM you want is part number 13 204 146.
The Alpha Code is UY.
