    Default CD70 into non-canbus car

Just wanting to query whether a CD70 could be fitted to my other car (electrically not physically).

I have a spare CD70 with GID that are married together and am wondering if it could be fitted and working in my Cav III.

I noticed that the early Vectra's (pre 2004) have non-canbus radios like those fitted to Omega's they even use the old Dual ISOplug rather than the Fakra Quadlock.

    Any takers / idea's....?
I asked this on Cavaliercrazy Crazy's website with no answers yet.

As I said on there...I like a challenge and to be different...all the sheep have a tomtom.

you will need to change to quadlock then add wires to diag plug, and add wires to stereo and GID,change aerial. Not sure what you would do on a vectra b for radio controls as CD70 is full canbus on a vectra c you would need to change steering controls to scroller wheels and change airbag

    Thanks...I'm glad it's possible....

Could you point me in the right direction for the "PHE" thread or link ??

Or does someone have a revised wiring diagram...
If it helps, I am mid way through converting a Twin ISO to quadlock...split the two connector blocks, Rotate the blocks by 90 degrees so that the female part of the connectors with fit the flat "spade" type connectors in the head unit, and then re-juggle the wires.
I can even get female connector pins to fit the miniature pins above the ISO part.

    thanks in advance
    Rob...

I've looked at BigMac's thread, however this is for a part canbus vehicle...early vectra-c or omega-b.

I want to go even older and fit the CD70 to a Vectra-a / Cavalier 3....no can-bus....this is a quasi-analogue not a digital logic system.

Shall I just have a go and report back ???

I don't expect any of the BC functions to work, however there's a good chance that the Sat Nav and the CD / MP3 / Radio will work...

I may even get the speed dependent volume to work, as the ABS wire is still present across all radio connector ranges (Blue / Red ).

Pity I can't find the ambient temperature sensor wires...wired via low-speed can I presume.

£50??? It does work you know!!! lol.

I just need to investigate whether I could byepass some of the can-bus wires to obtain ambient temperature and lighting control along with the diagnostic link....maybe I should offer to swap with a half-can system.

My lowly cav doesn'thave a CIM or BCM

I'm really after a geek to offer some pearls of wisdom (other than...just not possible mate so don't bother!!).
