Default Turbo problem on 2.0t petrol -03 estate

I have irregular problem on my vec. When driving and/or accelerating turbo goes suddenly off ie. no boost what so ever. At same time a spanner light goes on. When getting ignition off and on turbo stays off . After that the spanner light isnt on anymore.
This turboless state can last one to three days. Then when starting its back with no problems

I have read fault codes and there is only one:
P0034 Turbo Charger Bypass Valve Control Circuit Low

    Help and advice needed!

    Thanks in advance,
    Ari

this happened on mine a few times, i have 2.0t
i had put a dump valve on mine though and i after i changed it to one with softer spring it hasn't done it since.

could be your standard dump valve (bypass valve)
if the bypass pressure is too low then the pressure will push back on turbo which could cause the problem it sounds like the bypass valve may not be opening properly, could just need a clean as a small amount of oil enters the air flow system so it be clogged up with that.

its easy to take off and clean but a bit of a pain to get back on as its down the back of the engine so you have to work almost blind.
you can clean it with brake or carb cleaner.

if it happens again, too save your self waiting a few days before it comes back in then disconnect the negative terminal on your battery and leave it for 10 mins, this used to clear the error on mine, at least until it happened again.

Hope this helps mate and you get it sorted.

    Mat

If the spanner light come on the turbo will not work as limp mode disables all actuators and vacuums on the car.

The following tests must be performed in the given order:
    Mechanical function check
    • Verify mechanical system functions/components
      Intake system
Check intake system/charge air hoses for leaks (secondary air, porosity and blockages)
Check electro-pneumatic pressure converter, bypass valve adjuster, bypass valve and corresponding pneumatic lines for correct functioning
Check the hose clamps at the intake-air system / charge-air system for correct fitting.
Check connected hoses and tubes for kinks, damage etc.
Check air filter for fouling and correct mounting.
Check air mass meter for fouling and correct mounting.
      Exhaust-gas turbo charger
      Exhaust system
