confused Does CDC 40 opera come with DAB as standard?

Help Please - I am tearing out what little hair i have left!
Car phone company installed parrot kit in my nice shiny vectra 2.2 Direct Design (nov 08). Came with CDC 40 Opera as standard with DAB.

They damaged the radio facia and have had to replace the whole radio unit, a costly mistake at £850. They fitted the new unit then discovered the head unit had to be programmed, which dealership have now done (another £30).

However, I now have no DAB. Dealership say it's an option and the replacement unit fitted has no DAB. Phone company say they supplied VIN number to Arnold Clark so should have been supplied the correct unit.

Can anyone tell me does the CDC 40 Opera come with DAB as standard? If it does then obviously it's not been set up correctly. If its an option then I can get the two companies to argue who's at fault and get the correct replacement unit. I just want my DAB back !!!

    Thanks in anticipation.

IIRC the actual HU don't have DAB...
DAB is controlled by a DAB box and is married to the HU so if they didn't get it married back to your HU you wont get dab as the HU is looking for the control box but its not communicating .
Obviously i'm not an expert on these units and some one may know different but i'm sure they do have a DAB unit some where in the car HTH

Bigmacs comment may b right. The DAB unit may well be in the aerial box on the roof. There was a thread recently which said there was several aerial units dependant on whether it was dab etc

I think the aerial acts as a transmitter but i think the control box for the dab is behind fan motor on bulkhead on passenger side

    Thanks to all so far.

The farce continues - Arnold clark parts now say its programming - Arnold clark service dept say its the part.

Having read this and other threads I am thinking Bigmac may have the answer i.e. the phone engineer has not connected up the new unit to the DAB control box.

Will post the outcome for future reference folks. All I can say is I am glad its not a major fault - what chance would I have?

    Thanks again

I had the unit out the other day for something else and there are only 2 connectors at the back - Aerial and Wiring loom block. Presuming that they havent pulled the wiring loom apart there is no way he could have forgot. Something sinister going on me thinks as afaik the stereo cant be programmed but I may be wrong

As stated earlier all three parts DAB, CDC40 head-unit and the display will need to be programmed / taken out of safe-mode / married via Tech-2 at a cost of approx £60 + vat....as for Arnold Clark....they're not worth spit!!!

Waste of space, time and money....I've forgotten more about my car...and I know very little....than the whole service and parts depts have ever dreamed of knowing!!! (I speak for my local one near Old Trafford in Manchester)
