Just had my car looked at as there is a rattling coming from the clutch.

The noise is there whether the engine is hot or cold, whether I am idling or moving. The noise disappears when I depress the clutch pedal.

Vauxhall technician says its the release bearing and its going to £950 to fix (ouch).

Decided to do it myself. Phoned local motor factors and they say the release bearing is part of the concentric slave cyllinder. Can anyone confirm this as don't want to buy it only for it to be the wrong part.

Also where is the slave cylinder situated. I know on the 2.0 it is bolted onto the gearbox. Is this the case with the 3.2 or is it inside the transmission system?

Any help is much appreciated.
