confused Vectra 2.2SRI Direct Misfire/Limp Mode

    Hi All,
I have a 54 reg 2.2SRI Direct, a few days ago it started with a sudden intermittent loss of power under hard acceleration - it would then seem to clear itself. Then it started to happen more frequently, and the EML would light up.
Yesterday, the car seemed fine so I went out - i was some 20 miles or so from home when the car started losing power and misfiring, and went into limp mode. I called the AA who diagnosed a coil pack fault with OBD codes PO302 and PO304 - cylinders 2 and 4, misfire detected.
Today, I managed to get hold of a replacement coil pack, genuine Vauxhall, and replaced it. Upon starting, the car was still in limp mode. so I disconnected the battery for 5 mins. This did not clear the fault, so I drove the car a couple of times to see if the drive cycle would clear it. Eventually, the EML went off, and the car drove fine for about 500 yards when it again lost power, misfired and went into limp mode once again.

Clearly there must be another fault - does anyone know of a related fault common to these with these OBD codes being flagged?

    Yours Desparately,

    Unhappy Vectra Driver

Sounds more like the pump failing from what everyone says with a YH mate.

It did cross my mind that the pump could be faulty, but the car has never once cut out or refused to start, and the fault is coming and going - the code for high pressure fuel pump has never been stored, only the codes for misfire in cyl's 2 and 4....
