    Default Water leak from bulkhead??

After being out and about yesterday I noticed water on the floor under my 53 reg 2.2 dti sri. I only picked it up from the garage yesterday morrning after having the thermostat changed.

Had a better look at it today and after the car has been running I get a considerable drip from a rubber plug/gromit on the bulk head. It is just to the left of centre. It is about 25 to 35mm long and cone shapped. The water is dripping from the end. Sticking a hand down it does feel as if it has a hole in the end.

Does this have anything to do with the air con? I know air con systems drop a bit of water, but this is quite a considerable drip.

Yes its the aircon outlet. I had this on my old veccy b, thought i had a leak inside the cabin until i discovered that outlet was blocked and it was running back into the car!... Its from where the cold air from the evaporator i think it is inside meets the warm air and the driplets form. they sit on a plate and are guided to the outside of the car via the bulkhead to that rubber pipe.

Mine has started leaking this year and found its connected to the air conditioning, its coming from the same rubber peice that dap1977 said, i was wondering if the air conditioning was to have a re-charge (mine dont seem to get as cold as it used to be) would this solve the leaking?

its a common fault that these drains block up and the water overflows down through the heater and wrecks the motor/resistor

this thread mate is about the condensation build up which occurs via the aircon unit and then drips out from a little hose attached to the bulkhead and not the common scuttle panel problem which then causes water to leak into the car

Plasma is right, iv had the scuttle panel problem before so I know it's deffo not that!
It was just a thought that the air con having a recharge might solve the problem? As the water will get closer to freezing and won't run out the pipe?

Its not actual water which gets chilled its the aircon refrigerant. The water is purely condensation from the cold section which sits inside the car and mixes with warm air thus causing condensation which in turn drips onto a drip tray which then leads to the outside of the car, so in other words no. It proves that the air-con is getting nice and chilly for this to happen
