    Default Oil-can warning light

Quick question for u experts out there!
My oil-can warning light keeps illuminating. It first came on whilst on the motorway doing 75mph during a long journey, then didnt c it again unless i was on a similar journey.
Today, however, its come on again whilst driving through town.
Have done the obvious and checked the oil level, which is fine!
Car is a 2006 1.8SRi with only 20k on the clock (is due a service though!)
    Thanks in advance!

If it has an oil pressure sensor, that might be faulty.

I would have thought no more than say £20. If there is the correct amount of oil in the sump. You might as well wait. If you know where the sensor switch is then maybe change it yourself. You might be able to get one from a local motor factors.

Well m8, cars just had its 20k service, n u were spot on...apparently needed a software update!!
Just out of warranty, so cost me an additional £45.
I tried to get the dealer in N'pton to meet me half way with £20 each, but he wasnt having it!
Does anyone know wat else this ''software update'' does, n how it will benefit me/my vec?
I was told it was neccessary, otherwise i wouldn't be able to trust the oil illumination light!
    Many thanks to all!
