Default Sump bolt 2.2 DTi. Doing Oil change.

Can anybody help me with a couple of questions as I'm changing my oil and filter at the weekend?

    1. Size of sump bolt. Is it recessed requiring a socket or will an adjustable spanner do the job?

    2. Is the sump bolt accessable without removing the plastic engine undertray?

I'm using Valvoline SynPower fully sunthetic 5W-40 oil. I've used this on my cars in the past and have had no problems. Its certified for VAG/BMW/Merc and Opel longlife service intervals so the 10k miles I do between changes should be no problem.

    Thanks.

    Ross.

Hi mate, did you have to remove the undertray to change the oil?

If I remember correctly, I did remove the undertray. I haven't owned that car for about 2 and a half years so it's a struggle to remember.
