lacking power

hi all just after some advice,i own a pre facelift 2.2 vec c that is as gut less as hell before 3000 rpm then pulls well, what can i do to try and solve this,any help will be great

Is it the Z22SE or Z22YH engine you have (guessing it's the Z22SE), could be the EGR valve sticking, maybe worth removing and giving it a thorough clean out and/or remove it, fit a blanking plate and get yourself onto the Z22SE site and purchase the cheater from vocky who builds them, charges a tenner for it, have to say mine was abit like yours and ended up doing this mod' along with airbox mod' and shorter VXR intake pipe and car is so much better all round, also changed air filter (standard Vx one) fuel filter and plugs, while I was at it.

hi there no engine is pretty steardy,one thing i have noticed around town its fine when sticking to speed limits but get on the motorway and put your foot down and it seems sluggish,im gonna try the egr first but was also thinking that it could be the pre cat

No pre cat on the Vec C version of the SE mate.
