    Default front grill repair

    Hi there..
First time posting but been browsing the site
since i got my facelift cdti sri two months ago.

I need a bit of advice on the following problem.
I had a minor bump today with the car ( the wife was in my ear at the time)
and hit another car on approach to a roundabout.
There was only a bit of minor damage to the other car but i managed to damage my front grill. The chrome v grill holder is cracked and so is the plastic grill i also lost the badge.

Does anybody know if this is an easy part to replace and fit or should i take it to a network Q garage to be repaired.

    Regards

    Gerry

well it was not easy for me. the how-to recommends you to take the front bumper off, two screws each side of the wheel arches (easy enough) but I could not get the bottom "rivets" out/undone for love nor money. so I tried without taking the bumper off...never again.

I would recommend getting the bits & a) if you are not a plonker (like me) try it yourself or b) there are plenty of helpful folk on here who know what they are doing - who may live close to you, ask nicely, then plead! pop round with some chocs/biscuits/cleaning kit & make a day of it!

I had the exact same thing really, someone reversed into me, minor bump and the grills cracked. They are silly money from the dealer. They come in four pieces and come to just over £200.

I have left the black plastic slats alone, and I debadged the back and stuck the badge to the grill. Its slightly to big but it does fit and looks fine. Also the v-grill is loose. You can just walk up to it and pull it off as pretty much all the clips have gone. Its stayed on for almost 10k though now!

I just paid £133 de. for full VXR grillset minus V from VX I've been told it's a few screws and them plastic rivet/pin type fasteners too. Might be a little fiddly, more concerned in making sure I didn't scratch the bumper.

Theyre about £60 from stealer for the V. Dont think they come with a Badge but these are less than £15 on ebay
The grill im not sure about. One of the benefits over Moorlander is your not gonna have top be gentle with the V and the hundreds of clips holding it in
