Default If you think the vectra's got an injector problem, read on!

Got a call from my brother today who has an engine reconditioning business and was telling me about a citroen C8 16v HDi he was working on. all he was trying to do was change an injector but you apparently can't get them out without damaging the head! He has had to smash the injectors with a hammer to get access to the headbolts and still could not remove the injectors with the head on the bench, they seize in solid bigtime. No amount of heat, hammering or using a press will remove them. He's been told that spark erosion is the only way! And its a big bill aswell £4.5K yes £4.5K to change an injector!!!!!!!!!!!!1

Yup, hear and see this all the time...i had an issue with a bmw 330d last year i had the bonnet off and the biggest sliding hammer i could handle still no luck...spoke to a man who knows a man who knows stuff...

he told me to open a fresh can of coke(non diet) and por it down around the injector and leave it for 24 hours...

    I thought yeah right then!

next day bang bang bang bang ...oya **** i was about on the floor...out she popped..

something to do with what ever is in the cola attacks the corrosion...i was well impressed..now in my tool box their is 3 cans lol..

    This is what BMW do

Not very nice to happen & car companies should take some of the blame for bad design.

But coke does come in helpful for lots of thing, I know what damage it can do. I know guys that work at coke-cola & there have seen the effects of the un-watered version (can melt a coin in half)
