    Default CDTI 150 Manifolds

Guys need some help here have Vx released an updated Manifold ofr the 1.9 CDTI 150?

Could I have part numbers please for both parts if there has been a release.

Also on what basis have vx replaced the manifold at their expense?

    Regards,

Sorry, do not personally have the details to answer your questions but to my knowledge there is an upgrade to cope with the older feable swirl valve design but I think it is up to the individual to cough up for this upgrade post warrenty.

Manifold wont be changed post warranty you need to get it done before the warranty runs out, best you can hope for is if you have a full Vx service history is then a contribution towards it.
Plasma's Tech2 services are now open and able to provide services

There was a pdf posted a bit back with the pierburg update information regarding the 'new' inlet manifolds. As said above, they will only be changed under warranty (providing a problem was found of course).

I'll have a quick look and see if I can find it....

Yes - the 'revised' inlet has better swirl flap bearings to stop the up and down movement on the flaps which in the end wears the ball joints and caused the rod to pop off.. This also causes the swirl flaps to gum up.

Part numbers here when my inlet and all ancillaries were changed:
    actuator for swirl valve 55199915
    Thats the one..

    Parts when VX did mine:
93191278 - Rngine Timing Parts Kit
    55210201 - Inlet manifold
    55199915 - Bracket (Actuator)
    93179058 - Gasket
    55215031 - EGR Valve
    93181665 - Gasket
    93178885 - Gasket
    93170402 - Anitfreeze

    Hope that helps

some old and new pics for you from my previous thread on this:

"Took some nice pics today of my new shiney one:

You can see the new Swirl Tops and Rod here:

..and here - note that the Swirl Tops are slightly different - they dont have the hole in them

    See:

    Old Inlet:
Rod was very easy to put on and off so no wonder it fell off easy.. it hardley grips.. I can see now that a washer would be quite a good fix for the rod I think.

Showing here one of the many issues with the old inlet.. The swirls move up and down too much aparently.. this causes the wear on the ball joints etc and cause the rod to come off... Also effects the swirl operation etc...

    Interesting eh! lol

    A "

    Cheers
