Default Going to clean the EGR Valve this weekend.....Question's

    Guy's,

Im planning on cleaning out the EGR Valve on my dads CDTI SRI 150 this weekend.

I have already bought the gaskets and have plenty of spirit (parrafin) to clean the EGR Valve with.

Anything special I need to do or take care with?

Also, what do I clean the engine side of the EGR Valve with?

Any hints and tips will be more than appreciated.

    Thanks.

    Bye bye Vec B

think on the CDTI its near the back right of the engine....

    here is a pic

Its the little yellow/orange sensor in the cone that needs cleaned...

You'll probably find you cant see the sensor because the cone is full of gunk...

So just remove the one screw that holds the whole thing to the engine, unclip elec cable, pull out the part show above (its got a rubber seal on so make need a gentle tug)

    Clean and refit

    Steve,

Can this booster sensor be removed without removing the EGR? The reason I ask is I cleaned my EGR about 2 months ago but didn't know about cleaning this sensor.

If I take this sensor of to clean will I get the yellow spanner light on the dash on startup after refitting, also is it just the "yellow" part that needs cleaning and do I need to be careful with it, i.e. what do I clean it with, could i just spray it with a aerosol?

    Thanks
    Michael
