    Default DPF Re-gen indicator

In the manual is seems to say that the pre-heater light comes on when the DPF regens,

The control indicator will continue to flash until the self-cleaning operation is complete.
The only way I know is when the MPG drops through the floor, so should the indicator flash ?

Yes it used to flash when it wanted to initiate a regen, but with the later software update they removed this 'feature' as people were bringing the car in reporting it as a problem.
Plasma's Tech2 services are now open and able to provide services

Its free-ish; if you get your car serviced at Vx then they should check for software updates as part of the service
