    Default Using an oil extractor

    Has anyone used one of these rather than drain the oil vial the sump plug?

    Its on a 2.2 dti.

    YEP, I had it done on mine.....the machine missed half the oil in my sump, so when it was filled up, there was way to much and had to be drained anyway, remove the plug, do it the easy way !

    thats pish the one im looking at has indicators on the collector so you can see how much you have removed.

    Why use an oil extractor to collect pish.... one i used also had indicators,

    That oil extractor is what you use when you want the job done as quickly as possible, regardless of how well it's done. I.e., a typical garage.

    TBH its no quicker using an extractor than dropping the oil from the sump - also as said you know you have removed all the oil if you go the sump way

    BTW i use extractor's all day at work and they do work very well
