Default help to identify what this part is?

i think it is part of a vauxhall fitted mobile phone system or something related to phones but can someone identify exactly what it is?

you will see it fitted below the handbrake where the cup holders should be

i have seen this exact item fitted to a vectra i was going to buy at auction but was unsure exactly what it was and how to use it

if someone can identify what it is exactly and how to use it i`d be very grateful incase i come across another,i did also notice any vectra in basic form i.e a life / exclusiv with this fitted had a bigger radio channel display screen than it should have normally which has me deffo thinking it is mobile phone related

Yep, it's a phone cradle. I think how it works is that part is just the power/charging bit and the actual communication with the car is via Bluetooth.

cheers duncan thought it was phone related

do you know what type of phone fits into the charging cradle? is it a specific model or universal?

anybody have this fitted that can talk me through it as i may look out for another vec with this as an installed bluetooth system would be handy in my job

have noticed one or two with parrot fitted instead of this i assume that would be better?

I have Vauxhall blue-tooth fitted and it is great alot better than parrot kits I have had in the past.

what you are showing in the photo is where you attach the cradle for your make of phone, when I have enquired with Vauxhall they have quoted me between £50 - £75 depending on cradle type that you want, personally I just use the siggy lighter charger on my phone.

andy.l will be the man to ask about the BT kit as he's fitted his and a few others so knows exactly how it works. I'm sure you get a cradle that is phone specific from Vx.

EDIT: or someone else who has it fitted like gregc.

Probably for a Nokia phone - lots of mention of Nokia cradles and docking ports in EPC.
