    Default Weird wheel bolt holes!!!!!

Was passing Halfords earlier this evening so thought, "why not, lets pop in for a browse"

Went in there and strait to the WHEEL, section. Was looking at a few and then in the corner of my eye I saw the TSW MODENA

I put my finger in one of the bolt holes and the tapered hole inside actually moves. Can turn it 360 degrees, a bit like the LOBE on a CAMSHAFT. I thought "that seem flippin dodgy. To cater for different stud patterns? Surely dangerous??"

Can anyone shed some light? Here are the wheels from Rimstyle and they have a specific stud pattern listed alongside this wheel.

Yup all TSW wheels come with them now mate..pretty safe i you get a diagram with the correct markings for your car...if not you will fit them in which you think they are corect, but you will be wobbling down the road...the first set i fitted to a mates mr2 i thought what the hell is going on here...untill i contacted the company which suplied them and they faxed me a diagram with the settings..

your right in what your saying with the lobe...thats all it really is with a dot marked on it and 4 lines marked on the wheel..for 112 pcd..110 pcd..114.3pcd etc...the centre bore on these wheels are pretty large to to cater for all models so spigot rings are suplied.

theres just part of my mechanical knoledge that says the wheel should be held to the hub securely.

Moving parts within the wheel just doesnt do it for me !

Just don't reverse too far or they'll undo themselves and fall off!
