Yes mate, and a must if under warranty. The 10w40 is what I use as it helps with my sticky lifter and its perfectly fine to use in yours as long as you drop it out every 10k. Autovaux do the 10w40 VX stuff for about £12

Is there such a thing as a 5w/30 semi synth oil ?

I thought 5w/30 was fully synth, and 10w/40 was semi synth.

I took it as being a question that if he used the semi 10w40 over the full 5w/30?

I read it the same as Dave - that he (spennny) was asking if he could use 5W/30 semi-synth. Can't be Vx oil if he was as I also thought that was only available in fully synth in 5W/30.

Theres not many modern engines these days that will take semi synth any more. Vast majority are fully synthetic, due to the superior lubrication properties yadda yadda
