    Default Halfords aircon refills

My aircon is blowing warm air and the stealers want too much to re-gas, looking at halfords they sell a refill kit for £40 a mear kick in the ass compared to vauxhall.
Has anyone used these, are they any good and how easy to refill your aircon with it?

Also known as the can of death! If your system has lost all its gas - it could have! - then it needs attention to check for the leaks(s)
Now I need a turbo to keep up!

I was quoted £79 at Evans Halshaw. Kwik fit did mine for £40. They also pressure test the system to check for leaks. If there is a leak then the refill aborts - as they said the gas was poisonous?

Yeah its a highly toxic thing, i worked in a VW garage years ago and it was a bright green gunge that goes into the machine well someone knocked it over on the forecourt and it burned through the tarmac Left a permanently discoloured patch!

Because over charging may kill your compressor as it makes it compress a liquid - which it cannot do.

Also if there is a leak then that needs fixing first, then it all needs to be vac'd out and refilled correctly. I would only ever use one of those cans if i were selling up!
Now I need a turbo to keep up!

wouldnt bother with a can like that! you need to remove the gas that is there, fully first before you re-gas the system.

get it done properly for good results
