Thumbs down MOT: Failed 75K Miles 03

On 4 points 2 were easily fixed as the car was there for a service (6th & big 1, plugs ect):

1: Near & offside headlights aim too high.

2: Near & offside rear springs fractured, something I need to wait till Mon to find out if covered by the dealer warrentee I took when buying the car or £267 fitted!!! for 2 ****** VX springs.

Options: Eibachs all sold out everywhere so might have to go Spax ?

Other raised points as advisory at this stage:

1: Front disks inner surface 20% rusted, £200???
2: Rear brake pipes rusted, any idea on cost ?
3: Clutch bite point high, possible spring broken, cost £67 fitted no stock on part.

Also had rear brakes done, headlights aim corrected, brake fluid replaced as they said it had a high water content, cost me £145 at this stage.

Service big x 2 + 2x MOT pre-paid when I bought the car for £249+VAT, so at least I did not have to pay that.

    Thoughts ?

Mine is slightly younger than yours and half the mileage but there starting to show there age now lol.

Headlight aim: Any decent technician with half a brain or a shred of decency would have adjusted the headlight aim on the ramp without even defecting that.

Springs: Thats a sore one mine had a broken spring to at the MOT. If its an AC autocare warranty your springs should be covered, mine was

Brake pipes: I also got an advisory at my mot for my brake pipes he said the whole car from front to back will need done within a year or two

My opinion of the advisorys is leave them at the moment, they way i planned it was to go through them bit by bit before next years mot as i find time, much easier on the pocket that way.

Thank god we don't live in the UK or every car we've ever owned would fail on MOT.

I think the beam aim thing was stupid on their part not just to fix it (I bet its a 2 sec job) but they charged me £20

My front springs went on my 2003 Vec and the warranty covered it, it was the original Vx warranty.
