    Default Competitive Insurance

Any good recommendations for Insurance.Best quote I've had so far for my 2.2 SRi Direct is just over the £300 mark and thats with "bump" and an SP50.Seems ok to me.Tried "Elephant" and was bored so tried changing a few things to see how it affected the quote.Surprised to see that having a "bump",not being your own fault and with no claim made etc,etc causes the quote to rise around £40.By the way,I'm 33 years old (honest)

Try http://www.halifax.co.uk they are underwritten by Esure, don't need as much no-claims as Esure and came in £20 cheaper. Both halifax and Esure were cheaper than Elephant and Direct Line by quite a bit.

Try the bank, might suprise you with a lower quote, be armed with the other quotes as it seems to make or break their offer to you.

Mines £1000 a yr btw, so think yourself lucky, young mayn.

I found that Direct Line was the cheapest for me by a long mile.

Esure were £190 less than direct line for my GSI, though obviously depends on each individuals circumstances.

I always find that the biggies (norwich union, halifax, direct line etc) are too expensive....A+ 0800 279 0429 are cheapest year in year out for me...I'm talking hundreds of pounds cheaper than the others.

They are basically brokers, and they use Corinthian Insurance, which I believe Admiral use....basically the biggies just take a bigger cut for their work...

I pay £229 for my 2.2 Signum, fully comp with Tesco, who were £20 cheaper than Esure. Supprisingly my house insurance falls on the same date, so i do both on the same day. Now Esure were £ 20 cheaper than Tesco for my house insurance.

A few years ago a company called Blue........, set up to offer a complete insurance package ie, both cars, house, travel, etc. I got a quote of £375 a year for my Ford Scorpio, Renault Clio and house insurance, all in together, fully comp. Naturally I bit, anyway, twelve months later they shut down, saying they couldn't make it pay. Good idea though, saves having different insurance companies for different areas of your life.

Have you tried Adrian Flux? They may be cheaper if you declare all your mods.
