I am looking for advice before going ahead with having h.p fuel pump & pressure regulator replaced. The car is a 2004 2..2 direct (z22yh engine).Vauxhall read the fault code as P1191 and say i need a replacement h.p fuel pump and maybe a modified pressure regulator. The car is no longer under warrenty and somehow have to find £600 pounds for these items to be changed. I have phoned customer services and also written and they still maintain it is not a safety problem even though mine first went into limp home mode on the M4 taking the kids away for half term.Over the last 3 weeks if has got slowly worse and now goes into limp home mode around town like last night. What do i do? I now have a car i can't use.I've got to get it fixed i have no choice.
So far i have not had trouble starting it and does not seen to run rough but then spanner/car warning light comes on and a few seconds later goes into limp home mode. What do i have changed first?
Will it fix the problem?
Vauxhall 's don't seen to be giving me much confidence in what they say.
Can anyone advise me on what to do next.I have heard these are being replaced with modified parts. Is this true?.How do i know if modified parts are going to be fitted.Do these items look different and what pt no's should i be looking for.
I know i am asking many questions but i am really fed up with the whole situuation but i need to get to the bottom of this.
Finally any recommendations on who i can trust to carry out the work.
Many thanks Dobs.
