    Default white stuff on my oil cap? vectra 3.2

    bAsically theres white creamy stuff when i take of my oil cap. took it to mechanic and he said that there was A BIT of water mixing with the oil but nothing to worry about?
    Is this something to worry about? and Why is this happening..? is there a cure?Would realllly help to know. Thanks

    Do you do short runs around town? It may just be condensation from the engine heating up and cooling down alot.

    I agree that is very normal on short trips causing condensation in the rocker cover. On the vectra B petrols there was a breather mod kit to stop this.

    Don't worry as mine did this. The next time you go for a long drive, check it when you stop and it should be away. If it was the head gasket then all the oil would usually be creamy. Take the dip stick out and check the oil and it should be dark brown or black if its not been changed for a while.

    The 3.2 is famed for this. I looked at 2 and they were both like this. I was told it was something to do with the raised filler spout being cooler. I had this years ago with a rover 3.5 V8 that had a raised filler spout and it lasted 15 years with no engine problems. You are probs ok.

    That is right, the raised filler neck causes cooler air to run around it, you can take the raised neck off nad just use the cap directly onto the rocker cover......problem solved!

    you can take the filler neck off and it shouldnt do it again
