    Default Paypal Gift Limit?

Just a quick question. If someone sends me a gift of £150 through paypal is tehre any charges or implications for doing so?

Dnt think there are any charges mate, if you transfer any less than i think £50 to your bank account there is a small fee. As it is a gift i don't think you'll get any fees

Is it still advisable to wait for the money to transfer before arranging collection.
(I only ask as payment will be by credit card and I havent taken paypal payments for quite a while)

Yes, if you're sending money there may be a charge but depends on your bank account payments. See https://www.paypal.com/uk/cgi-bin/he...y-fees-outside

However, having just checked my PP account, I had a few problems with my verified BANK a/c a while back and now all payments are done via my Maestro card (which was used a back up payment and linked to my bank a/c before PP decided for whatever reason, to remove the bank a/c).

So, if I send money via my Maestro card as a gift, I get charged the % as I listed in the above link.

If I send money as a payment, say for an E-Bay purchase, no fees apply.

Having just sent a mate £25 for some motorbike bits, I sent it as a "gift" and paid £1.05 extra for the privelage. In hindsight, should have sent it as a purchase and just paid £25.

I cant see any problems tbh. Im sure if the buyer is interested he will pay the extra £5. 0% interest on his card so still a good deal.

I had a "gift" of £160 a couple of weeks ago when I sold a rifle scope with no fees

Fees come into the equation if a card is used to fund the payment, afaik
