    Default speedo

    has any one noticed that your speedo is out by around 3mph at all times? i noticed this with the sat nav on.
    its kinda frustrating!

    Yep you'll all find that your cars speedo is around 3mph faster than your actually travelling.

    there is an allowed tolerance but they are not allowed to read under, never really noticeable until the sat nav came along.

    yeh but 3mph is alot! surely it shouldnt b tht bad. i had a 1992 starlet where the speedo was more acurate!

    It should be a % not 3mph all the time.

    Its a lot at 5mph but not at 70mph! They cannot under read by law so they all over read a little.

    Also, I bet it wasn't!

    They purposefully over read, the speed sensors send the signal to ecu which is told to slightly exagerate the readout. Which is smart as its a point saver
