    confused ok guys info needed please

    ok guys i might be geting me hands on some 19inch wheels.
    my questions are

    1, i have 16 inch steel wheels on at mo will i need to upgrade brake disks if so whats best.

    2, can i lower my car if 19 inch wheels fitted if so whats best 30mm 40mm

    3,have i missed anything

    all advice welcome please help

    1. No need to upgrade brakes simply because you've gone to larger wheels. Your 285mm front discs will obviously look smaller with 19" wheels on so that may make you want to upgrade to larger ones - as well as the obvious stopping benefits. Worthwhile upgrade would be to the 314mm or VXR 345mm if you can find a set reasonably priced.

    2. Yes you can - how much is up to you. There are guys with 19s that have lowered 30mm and 40mm without problems as such

    thankyou whats best 30mm or 40mm am i stupied here 30mm springs lower then 40mm springs or is it the other way round as in 40mm springs make your car lower than 30mm springs im having a blonde moment

    The mm is what it will drop it by from the standard ride height i.e. not an SRi/GSi model which are already lowered 15mm. If you put a set of 30mm springs on an SRi it will only lower it another 15mm, but on a non-SRi it will lower it 30mm - basically they will both end up at the same final ride height.

    so 40mm will be lower than the 30mm ok got it lol, but which is the best/most popular with vec c members.

    Got 19's on mine and lowered it 40mm front 45mm rear using PI springs. A few of us have these, Big rich and Glenboy (i think) for a start. Work well. If yours isn't an sri you won't be able to lower it as much on the standard shocks. The SRI is 15mm lower then standard anyway.

    standard car not sri so sounds to me 30mm will ben best ?

    yes 30 mate thats what am doin mine by on 18
    Vectra vxr custome remaps egr deletes dpf and diagnostic work all remaps are custome bench tuning avalible all genuine equipment PM for info

    go -40/-45 m8 the standard shocks will wear quicker than normal,they all wear out.. but hey......good excuse to buy uprated ones later onwell thats my plan if I get round to it lol
