Default Health & Safety gone out of control now!

Firstly, please make sure you are seated when you read this, you cannot make up stuff like this.

I was listening to Johnny Vaughn on Capital FM this morning, and he was ranting as much as any normal person would be on reading this.

It's all to do with Health & frickin Safety in schools. Now sure, all kids welfare is very important but these latest additions to the 'Barmey List' are just over the top.

he didn't name the schools but these are the latest rules.

    1. Children are banned from running in the playground for fear of injury and sueing the school/local government.
    2. Football and any other sport that is played on grass get's cancelled if it's been raining in case any pupil slips on the wet grass.

And the third, this will really knock you for six so please remain seated. Some schools are making pupils wear safety goggles when using................

    Wait for it.............................

    Are you still sitting down?

They have to wear safety goggles when using......................

    BLU-TACK!

Teachers have also been issued with a 5 page, that's right, 5 page document outlining the dangers of using Pritt Stick!

Complete, total and utter, 100% certified, lunacy and joke of a country!

    Paul.

Snowman, you got your ears on?

    • One person at a time in staff kitchen
    • Ban on sweets because of choking risk
    • Buoyancy aids for capable year 11 swimmers on a school trip to France
    ridiculous!!!!

.... they refuse to apply sun-cream to my 5 year old.

Surely they have a duty of care if they are letting her out in the sun, and with our permission, be allowed to apply it ?

They can't give your kid an aspirin / paracetamol, BUT have no duty to tell you if your child seeks advice on being pregnant or is offered the 'pill'

Not being allowed to take pics of school sports or plays does my head in. The majority suffer because of the minority. If a paedophile wants to take pics of kids in school he can do it more or less at any playtime or get pics out of catologues, internet, etc. How anyone gets their kicks out of seeing kids in sports gear or dressed as any pantomime character is beyond me. The world has gone mad.

I blame this "blame culture" world we live in now !!!

I visit schools often and its scary to see how little direct interaction the teachers are allowed to have with the pupils these days !!
