Yep, 50:50 and make sure you get the orangey stuff, not the other type (which I can't recall the colour it is).

When i took mine off (2.2dti) there was very little coolant in the egr valve. Possible that the coolant system needs bled. If you have no overheating issues and the existing coolant is still nice and bright orange no need to change

If you put the wrong stuff in an ally engine it will corrode it from inside. 2.2's heads have been known to leek coolant from the heads due to corrosion from the wrong antifreeze. Stick with the VX stuff. They only sell one type, its not that expensive and yep as said 50/50. HTH

just go to your local car shop and get the red 5 star antifreeze, and i would only use about a 30% mix, there is no need to do a 50/50 mix in this country, also the red antifreeze lasts for 5 years, blue stuff only lasts 3 although most of it is now safe for alloy blocks etc...

The Vx stuff is very reasonably priced and you can get 5l of the stuff for a decent price - I should know as I only bought some recently but I haven't got the receipt immediately to hand.

As answered above - long life stuff and the right type for our engines.

I disagree. The Vx stuff clearly states a 50:50 mix so why use a weaker dilution?! Why risk running a weaker mixture than recommended and come a harsh winter it then doesn't protect the engine fully and ££££££ in repairs all for the sake of a few quids worth (if that) of anti-freeze.

The Vx stuff is very reasonably priced - can't recall exactly how much it is but I bought 5l of the stuff recently and it wasn't a huge amount.
