    Default Anyone tested there deadlocks?

Just out of interest today i decided to test my deadlocks.

    Opened windows
    Double locked car.
Pulled up lock on drivers door
    Opened door
    Got in car
    Unlocked passenger door
    Opened door
    Closed both doors
Only now did the alarm go off.

In my Saab i could even put my hand in the window and there was no way of unlcoking the door.

Is the the same with all Vecs or do i have a problem?

    Cheers all

    Stephen

i believe the alarm needs 30 seconds or so to activate after u press the button. did u wait for a bit till u opened the doors etc?

Yep, as Carl said the alarm doesn't activate until around 30 secs after locking (you'll see the red light on the dash alter in it's frequency).

But if you've deadlocked the car and have been able to pull the door pin up then that's not right.

You should still be able to pull the individual car door locking pin up. You just shouldn't be able to open the deadlocked door after you have pulled it up.

Just tried mine and as Ste says, the pin comes up but the door won't open. This happens immediately after double locking. No 30 sec wait for the deadlocking. My alarm seems to arm after about 10s though. Mine is an 06 Facelift SRi 1.9 CDTi if that matters.

...that made it sound that by pulling the pin up it had unlocked the door, hence my reply.
