    Default I Need More Bhp

    All right all, got a 1.816v vecy, but just need more power.
    so come on what is the cheapest way to do this, and can
    it be done on a budget??????. Because the misses has the
    purse strings tight infact they are water tight.

    cheapest way is to get the 1.9CDTI hee hee. Failing that I'm sure someone will be along to shoot me down in flames with some cheap upgrades for ya engine.

    TBH, there ain't gonna be much. I knew Payney has fitted an induction kit to his 1.8, but that's only going to get you a few bhp at most.

    Regal or Courteney were doing a remap for the 1.8 iirc. +40 bhp but it was silly money. £800 from memory.

    If it power your after you shouldn't have got a 1.8 mate ( i've got one too !)
    Seriously, you wont get much power unless you spend a fortune & that aint really worth it !

    As above m8, it 's just too big a car for the engine unless you are prepared to spend some serious dosh. It just is'nt worth it i'm afraid.

    i have the 1.8 mate do the airbox mod makes a big diffrence helps the bad flat spot allso i have put the immey duel branch back boxes on they have made huge diffrence to the performance dont ask me why. but im a lot happier with the car now

    Well guys it looks like i am fuc***, because i have not got the
    kind of money to get ir re maped, may go with the induction kit,
    but there are so many around what is the best????????.

    had this on my old 1.8 LS..




    Got rid of the flat spot,, put upgraded exhaust on (both sides), makes a BIG difference..

    personally I would go for a panel filter and mod the air box...this cures the flat spot 99%....also Ive just put an SRI back box on mine and this has made a difference. Im not sure of any bhp figures etc, but doing these two small and inexpensive mods has made a lot of difference.....Bob
