I have owned my 2006 Vectra since January. In that time, I have had loads of problems with it!
-EGR valve had to be cleaned out, even though dealer insisted there was nothing wrong with it, until I tried to leave the dealership whereby I couldnt get any more than about 5mph, no turbo nothing
-Gearknob keeps falling off...still not fully resolved
-My stereo decided to go from being fairly quiet the other night to maximum volume (no increase gradually, just straight max which I think has damaged my speakers as my bass levels appear to be either loads (more of a vibration than bass) or no bass atall on some songs...but apparently there is nothing wrong with it
-My drivers side airvent has a broken bottom fin. This up until this morning closed 3/4 of the way but then wouldn't close fully. It has been into the dealer this morning to check out the stereo and vent. I have been told the vent is broken (I could have told them that) and it isn't covered under the manufaturers warranty. I explained there is no way I could have broken it, so it is surely a manufacturing fault. I've been told that it's £27.90 for a new one so I have ordered it but i'm not happy.
I dropped my car off this morning at 8.30am, and the service receptionist told me there would give me a lift into town. At 9.15am I was still waiting so I decided to walk in (30min walk) As I was leaving I noticed my car was up on the ramps, bonnet up with a technician spinning the wheels round and round?? It had gone in for the stereo, and the air vent...nothing else, so why was he wasting time doing whatever he was doing??
When I got the call to say it was done, I queried if they had resolved anything to be told nothing wrong with the stereo and the vent isn;t covered.
When I returned I was passed to the service manager who came out to my car and said he couldn't see anything wrong with the stereo and advised I used the bass and treble controls as that is what they were there for! I'm not stupid and I had it set up as I liked it, but it's not right!
As for the air vent, nothing he can do, not covered. So I had to buy a new one! And they had broken it even more! Now, it is lieing at the bottom of the vent with no movement at all! At least it closed 3/4 of the way before. The service manager said it was borken anyway and that they had not "broken" it any more!
I'm so annoyed!!!! Its the nwest car I've owned, yet the most unreliable!!
