Tyres filled with Nitrogen?

Has anyone on this board had their tyres filled with nitrogen?
If so, is there any advantage and is it worth getting done?

I saw this advertised the other day, and was gonna put a post up.

It costs approx £1.50 per corner. Don't know if it'd make any difference to normal road cars, especially my 1.8 Veccie.

They had the new Nissan GTR on and it had nitrogen filled tyres (with other new technology) and the nitrogen makes the tyres 'stiffer' and give less resistance in the road. So there will be positives and negatives to this, harder ride but better cornering i guess

The website goes on and on about correct inflation pressures, but doesn't really do a convincing job of differentiating between correctly inflated tyre with air as opposed to nitrogen.

I really don't see how it will make any noticable difference to any normal road car. As O2 molecule is bigger than the N2 molecule, surely leakage of O2 would actually be less than N2? The tyre tread will still 'age' as normal as it is still in air, and this is the 'active' surface.

As normal air is mostly N2 anyway, I think it is an expensive gimmick. Correctly inflated tyres will give all the benefits claimed anyway.

I had this done by KwikFit when I took my Falkens from camskill to get fitted. They do it for £1 a corner. Can't say I've noticed any difference. Keeping an eye on the pressures to see if I can notice them holding better or not. Will see what happens.

i filled my tires with nitrogen, i cant say much about it as i have it in my new tires so i dont know if quietness and other are related to tire itself or the nitrogen..

i just noticed that it keeps the pressure in tires perfectly, there was no need to add any N2 in them for over 3 months already..

if formula 1 is using it it cant be that bad and it isnt too expensive to fill your tires with it so why not give it a try?

Rubber allows air out, but doesnt allow nitrogen out, so in theory you shouldnt need to blow them up as much, if any atall

sods law says if you fill them with nitrogen you will get a puncture 5 mins later
