    Default vec c stalled can anyone advise me

    hi all ran in to another problem today with my vec c 2.2 sri(52)plate,i was coming to a junction in the road when revs dropped and died so i started the engine again and the engine was running as if it was missing then i gave it a little rev and it cleared,would this be the plugs and leads?one thing that is bothering me is when the car stalled i had air con wacked on full but when i started the engine again there was no power to the heaters only lasted a couple of mins then the air started blowing again why would this of happend any help would be great

    Its a coil pack on the 2.2 mate, no leads. Has there been other symptoms at all? Is it running sweet as a nut normally or do the revs drop quite often when your coasting? Is there any misfiring?

    hi mate revs are constantly low and there doesnt seem to be any powerthrough the first few gears

    and the first time it miss fired was today when it stalled

    The revs should be about 700rpm when warm. Check the cheapest things first like plugs and cleaning the throttle body, but TBH I dont think it could be the TB. Unless you get your cods read your going to have to move on to coil pack and even the o2 sensor, did the emissions light come on?

    no emissions light nothing just stalled because of low revs started it again wouldnt start first time of trying ignition then second attempt it started but was missing so i gave it a little rev and it cleared

    Sorry mate, just been having a game of COD LOL.

    Its a long shot but get the Tb off and give it a clean. The tick over is controlled by the flow of air through a gap where the butterfly doesn't quite seat properly in the barrel of the Tb. This gets coked up and can induce stalling but it doesn't just happen, it gradually gets worse. There is a how 2 for it HERE mate. Its a 10 minute job to get it unbolted.

    hi there yeh used your thread already as you advised me to do this the other day and no improvment do you recon its worth getting a second hand coil pack and will they be the same on any z22se engine ie vectra,astra,omega cheers

    LOL, I didnt make the connection in the 2 threads.Omega is a X22SE not Z22SE iron block so don't be getting an omega one. You should be fine with a Vec B, Zaffy A, Astra G. don't get a Vectra C estate or signum one as that's a Z22YH.

    Have you posted on the 2.2 forum (z22se.co.uk), there are guys with far more knowledge over there all willing to share the experience.
