Default Is it too soon for ex-demos and nearly used

On the look out for a 2.0 Petrol Insignia Elite.

Haven't seen many nearly new, ex-demo models with a significant saving around .... has any one else?

I like the look of the AFL with the LED's on the Elite - do other models have these as standard?

    Thanks

they will be about - ask your dealer to source one- the main problem in the current economic climate is that most dealers are only registering what they need and not what they would like
this time last year between 4 sites we would have had 40 - 50 demonstrators - now its more like 20-25

For tax and VAT reasons the earliest they will be released is 7 months after ownership / first registered

From memory the first hire cars were taken by ERAC in November 2008 for the Christmas season, so these should be at auctions by this month
Direct sales should also start appearing now

Remember; check the vehicle over THOROUGHLY
Ask to see both keys and the service book
If there is only one key, then request that the second key is acquired within 28 days OR if not that ALL the locks and keys are replaced at no cost
If there is no service book, then only look at models that are half the FIRST service interval, that way they will not be needing a service neither will they have needed one

I have bought three ex-fleet cars
My first was the Vectra B, dealership performed the first service for free
The second key never appeared so all the locks were replaced in week 5
My current car is also ex-fleet, and I like the VX numberplates it came with!

    Deffinately not too soon.

I have just bought a 2.0T 4x4 that is only 2 1/2 months old from my local dealer with £10,000 knocked off. They also offered me a 2.0 Diesel that also had a big saving over the new price.

They explained to me that the reason they can do deals like these sometimes is that they are commited to buy so many cars from Vauxhall so sometimes if your lucky you can grab one of these cars. The dealer makes absolutely no proffit but it keeps their sales figures up.

They also gave me above book price for my 57 reg Vectra Sri. £7250.

In one price guide I looked in they are quoting £5950 .

Was that an 09 or 58 plate and did it come with the adaptive lights, VXR exterior pack, dual zone climate control and bluetooth with sat nav?

If thats a yes then I have been done but still happy.

Also was it the 2.0 Diesel, 1.8 petrol or the 2.0T 4x4 which would make a big difference?

I have never owned a car that turns heads like this one

You say that it was a trade in for a VW. Did the customer give any reason why? There is absolutely no comparison. I looked at both when shopping around and they are a world apart .

It was a 2.0 diesel 160 not sure what VXR pack looks like but did have lip spoiler on rear. No adaptive lights, did have dual air con and no bluetooth. Jan 09 registered so on a 58. Also came with 2 inchs of water in N/S/R light lens free Don't know why or what he swapped for as I work in workshop not sales we just prepped it as it only lasted about 5-6 days on our forecourt.

It's amazing really. If you look back to 1983, a really nice car like an Opel Monza would have been £20k. That's over £50k in today's money accounting for inflation .

A approximate modern equivalent would be a Vectra VXR, which at the end, you could get brand new for ... about £20k!
