    Default Oil!

Well, Its come to the time where im needing to change the oil and filter, Cars just done 60k and its 10k since it last had an oil change and not due for a full service til 70k, so the question is whats the best oil?

I have noticed that in a morning, when its cold it taps for about 10 - 20 seconds until (as i can only imagine, the oil gets around the engine) when its been a hot morning, it doesn' tap at all. But when I first bought the car, it didn't do this at all.

On the last service i used Castrol Magnatec fully synthetic 5w-30, quite expensive stuff, but i can only think that is causing the tapping???

What im needing to know is, whats the best oil to use now? Do i go to vaux and get some of the GM stuff or do i do with something else? Its a 2002 2.2 SRI the Z22SE.

    Thanks in advance

    Steve

Just been looking on auto vaux and they do the GM 5w 30 (which i think all petrol vectras take)...including the 1.8 vvti for £19.43+VAT for 5L. Anyone used the standard GM stuff, is it any good?

Autovaux is your best bet mate. To help with the tapping get there GM 10-40, just make sure you dont leave it in any longer than 10k. Get your filter element from VX though, its better than Autovaux's

Its not necessarily better but its a little thicker so helps the hydraulic lifters.
