It is going in to VX tomorrow for a "chat".

Just looked at units through wheels - one rear disc is scored and brake unit is white/discoloured - possibly binding on issue.

Service was at 16000 miles and VX report said 80% pad remaining and 90% drums. Mileage is now 29000.

    Should be interesting.

Sorry - I meant the "discs/drums" box on the vehicle report

Seriously - if you need to rely on a sensor to tell you when to change your brake pads, I'm not sure you should be driving a car at all....
I have 314's and police spec pads, so yup, I should indeed be driving.

VX dealer says front pads 80% remaining same as 15000 miles ago, rears down to 30% remaining on rears and discs corroded - not covered by warranty - £170 for rear pads and discs fitted if we want it doing.

I suggested pistons may be binding on one side but they reckon not. Bad scoring on one disc suggests another problem to me.

Corroded discs was the problem - managed to get the VX rear pad and disc pack for £53 plus VAT. Job done. Thanks for the input but never had to replace discs in just 30000 miles before.
