thought you could use standard unleaded with S1...but best not take my word for it!

You can happily use normal UL with S1 but SUL does make a noticeable difference. S3 can only run with SUL.

with that sort of performance i would have thought you would have to use super unleaded as the scoobys and evo's etc do

As I said, with S1 it's okay to use normal UL, it won't cause any damage/issues but using SUL on S1 gives a noticeable difference. I'm pretty sure a Scooby doesn't have to have SUL in it?, unless it's been majorly tweaked with?

We use super unleaded on stage one, once we filled up with normal and that was coming back from PV and the garage we stopped at didn't have any. And yes you can noticed what you're running. The power we get is unbelieveable, even the guys we worked with said the same and they are a jap import specialist garage.

If you're using SUL on Stage 1 go for Tesco 99 ron. I use both standard and super unleaded and there is a difference, but Shell V-power super is not worth the extra cost IMO.

Been using shell as it's nearest one at mum's as she lives just off the 303 and it's the nearest one here in Bodmin too. Grrr
