Default Strange noise from vents (I think)

    Hi guys,

I'm a bit confused by the new sound I'm getting at higher speeds (60 / 70mph) - yep, I'm in the 'noise freeks club'. Sounds like someone was playing with some tin foil.

It's definately caused by the air flow - I guess somewhere behind the console. Everything indicates on leafs in vents (the stealers have replaced the airfilter recently and may have let few bits to go into the air hoses).

The question is - would blowing some air in the hoses from under the bonnet help (after taking out the airfilter)? perhaps I should blow some air from the inside? I'm not sure how is the blower build and I don't know if the rubbish is going to fall out inside the car or just stuck to the fan mechanism or anything else on their way.

My exhaust is also a bit rusty, but I doubt if it actualy causes the noise - the catalyst converter has crossed my mind, but the revs don't seem to have any impact on the noise.

Anyway, I'd appreciate if someone shares some knowledge about taking leafs out the vents.

    cheers

im not quite sure what would be the problem but would love to see your neighbours faces as you blow through a pipe, on your driveway, into you cars engine bay, checking for tin foil noises??.........

If it means not paying the Stealers £50 for 'sorry no fault found'- hell, I'm going to go for it

they would think I'm cleaning the engine anyway :P

mine was making a high whistling sound the other week. quick trip to the stealers saw a new compressor and regas which sorted out the problem. Shame they forgot to refit the egr valve properly which caused exhaust gas to come into the cabin through the newly fixed aircon system.
