    Default Dirty robbing scumbags

went out to my car this morning to find it had been broken into!!!!!
all that was taken was the CDs ( about 30 off them mostly free from paper etc but a few good genuine ones.) there was no damage to the outside of the doors so was I a victim of the central locking unlocking itself????? i have come back to the car on other occasions to find it unlocked when I know I certainly had locked it. I have read of this happen to others on here but hopefully they were not as unlucky as me.
Phoned the local Police give them their due they arrived about 30 mins after the call but were curteous and not in any way condescending when I mentioned that the doors were undamaged and the locks were open but I could not be 100% certain that I had locked it.
Did anyone realise that any finger prints found on the outside of the car are inadmissable as evidence and getting finger prints from internal surfaces except glass is near impossible!!

any way after taking my details they went on their way. I went to go and start the car to find what I thought was part of a key broke off in the ignition AAAARGHHHH!!! phoned police again they were back within five minutes hopeful that the key fob was still in the area and they could get DNA from it but there was no sign. They say they will contact a few neighbours later to see if anyone seen anything but I don't hold out much hope.

I then spent 1 hour trying to drill out what was left of the key , snapped 4 drill bits before finally managing use two jewelers screwdrivers either side and wiggled to get the offending article out which turned out to be the end of a flat blade screwdriver.

So luckily no lasting damage to car and lesson learned DOUBLe check car is locked before leaving it anywhere ( but this will be no good if it was the phantom central unlocking)

As I said at the start
    DIRTY ROBBIN FU$%^&G LOWLIFE Ba$££&!S
    That felt better

Sorry to hear your news. Fingerprints outside a car don't prove anything and it wouldn't normally be tested. It would only show (if you were lucky enough to get a match) that a person was near your car, you need them inside to convict! If you think about it, you need a smooth surface to get a fingerprint. Not much of that inside a vectra, any slight ridge or bump will distort a print. Might have got DNA though so surprised SOCO didn't attend!

Glad you got it sorted though,
    Robbie

they would never have driven it away without the keys

transponder would have prevented that - maybe they were looking at loading onto a low loader or towing - have you noticed any strange vehicles around lately ??

i've had some funny things with my central locking. was sitting in a car park waiting for my girlfriend when someone parked their car next to mine (a Peugeot i think), pressed their central locking as they walked away and my doors locked!

i don't trust the central locking on mine, always double check and never leave anything valueable in there, hidden or not.

I'm assuming this isn't the Serious & Organised Crime lot but stands for something else meaning forensics? lol

When my car got broken into they asked if I wanted to have it finger printed but they forensics people were so busy it would take them a week to come out and I couldn't use the car in the meantime plus it was peeing with rain so told them not to bother. As it turns out they caught the guy that night arms full of car steros and he still tried to plead not guilty. After some talking to by the coppers and his lawyer they managed to talk him into pleading guilty since he had been caught read handed lol

Sorry to hear you got stuff nicked. At least you didn't get your windows smashed or your body work damaged which would have been expensive.

you can get finger prints from any surface . but with the stuff that needs doing to get them very dear and time consuming .. parts need to be put in to a vacum oven were a super glue solution is vented in there and so sticks to the prints.. problem is this way of getting the prints cost up to a £1000 a time.. so the police will only use it when a more serious crime is commited and they are sure of a conviction ..
