    Default AirCon queries

I had my aircon regassed a couple of weeks ago and since then its been icey cold in the cabin. Yesterday I went out for a few minutes and it was icey still but today while its cold its not as icy as yesterday. Does the aircon take a few minutes to warm up/cool down ie engine needs to be runnhing for 10mins etc?

If not I guess I have a problem with the air con somewhere. Is aircon covered by warranty? Ive got 500 miles left to get any niggles sorted at the stealers under warranty.

    advice appreciated.

The air con can take 5-10 mins to get to its coolest temperature.
If you have a leak in the system, you will notice it taking longer and longer to get cooler, and eventually it wont even get cool.

If that happens, its more than likely your seals are shot.

The vast majority of the air con components arent covered under warranty, i know the gas/seals/condensor definately arent

Thaks for the feedback guys. Will give it a blast tomorrow on the half hour journeyto work and see what it does. Hopefully it just needs a warm up.

I've had my aircon regassed twice at Charlie Browns twice in the last 8 days. In between the car has been in for the clutch and flywheel doing.

The aircon was nice and cool for 3 days before the car went in for the clutch doing. Didn't use the car for a couple of days and then on Sunday the aircon would not cool at all. I took it back to Charlie Browns yesterday and they recharged the system. They said the gas was still in there, but none the less let it run through their program to recharge (no leaks found).

This morning the aircon was fine - came out at 11.00 am from work and it will not cool no matter how long I leave it on (+ 35 minutes)

The car is back in the Dealers again this Thursday as the car is a pig to drive due to clutch (1st and reverse gears are shocking to get in when warm). Where should I point them in relation to the aircon - which part is likely to be working intermittingly.

    Thanks for any help

    Martin

My aircon totally packed up over weekend. Compressor isnt even coming on. Cars only 20 months old. Another thing to add to the list when it goes to the dealers next week.

Could be due to the low pressure i.e. no gas in there.

That will prevent the compressor kicking in to prevent any damage.
