    Default plugs or coil pack help!!!!!!!

    emmisions light came on,took it to local freindly garage who plugged in(free of charge)and said misfire on cyl 4 plugs or coil pack any ideas many thanks rick

    Change the plugs first as its cheaper

    Or as a driveway check.... swap the plugs round so the one that's currently in cyl 4 is say in cyl 1. If the misfire moves (assuming there's nothing obviously wrong with the 4 plug when you remove it) then it's most likely the plug that's at fault.

    I would say plugs too, if it was the coilpack then it would all pack up, not just on one cyl.

    you all seem to be right,had the plugs changed,£25.00 fitted(ngk) if that means anything to you,been more smooth for some reason,done the job,see how it goes for a couple of days,fingers crossed,thank for help. rick

    Diagnostics can not read faulty plugs as they are not electronic if it was a plug it would say nothing. . If diagnotics say missfire 3 cyd it must be coil pack. Mitch coil packs can break down one cyd by one.

    Glad its all sorted now mate. Not a bad price for the swap either.

    I have to bow to your better knowledge on the coilpack bigdar, as i have only heard of ones that just totally pack up.
