Change the plugs first as its cheaper
Or as a driveway check.... swap the plugs round so the one that's currently in cyl 4 is say in cyl 1. If the misfire moves (assuming there's nothing obviously wrong with the 4 plug when you remove it) then it's most likely the plug that's at fault.
I would say plugs too, if it was the coilpack then it would all pack up, not just on one cyl.
you all seem to be right, had the plugs changed,£25.00 fitted(ngk) if that means anything to you, been more smooth for some reason, done the job,see how it goes for a couple of days, fingers crossed, thank for help. rick
Diagnostics can not read faulty plugs as they are not electronic if it was a plug it would say nothing. . If diagnotics say missfire 3 cyd it must be coil pack. Mitch coil packs can break down one cyd by one.
whats the best coil pack to get cheers
Glad its all sorted now mate. Not a bad price for the swap either.
I have to bow to your better knowledge on the coilpack bigdar, as i have only heard of ones that just totally pack up.
