Default Help with buying car from dealer

Well I put a small deposit down on a silver 04 sri cdti 150 last weekend and asked them to do a few things to it, I went to look at the work they had done on it today, I am unhappy to say the least, they have replaced a goodyear nct5 with a maxxis mav, repaired a small blemish on one wheel that I spotted last week by spraying the whole wheel which would be ok but it is a dull finish and now doesn't match the others, there were a couple of small scrapes on the front bumper/spoiler which have been sprayed over in patches with some overspray on the black areas, I wish they had left it all as it was now.

So I now will lose my deposit unless the rework they have agreed to do is up to the standard I want.

The Dealer is Evans Halshaw Citroen in York, I expect it wont bother them if I pull out of the deal but the car is otherwise pretty good so I don't really want to.

The way I see it is one of their employees has bodged the car so now I don't want it unless they put it right, which I doubt they will do properly, this has potentially cost me my deposit.

It's the car in my avatar.

I am going back to look at the rework on tuesday night.

    Any thoughts?

I don't see why you would lose your deposit if their work hasn't been up to standard. Reject the car as its a poor quality and demand the deposit back unless they put it right.
Now I need a turbo to keep up!

Agreed! Unless your deposit was something like £1000 then I would be worrying!

Plenty more out there and let them know that you're willing to walk away and it might get them to fix it fast!

You shouldn't lose your deposit if they haven't done the work to a high enough standard!

the car was advertised at 4991 with 50k on it, a deposit of £111 was paid as the total camr to £5111 with all the hidden costsa nd a bit of haggling, I think it's a good car at that price.

Go and speak to the manager and point out that the work carried out is not up to standard and you are unhappy with what was before it was bodged a perfectly good car with only minor imperfections. They normally will try and give you an excuse but as soon as you mention complaint and head office. They backtrack and refix whats needed and how hard is it really to swap a wheel with another vectra and cleanup and respray the marks again + a full tank for your troubles and a new set of mats as an apology

They are going to "fix" it for me to look at but I reckon a respray on the front would cost £300 to do right, as for the wheel I don't know, maybe if they sort me out on the price or give me a good deal on a warranty.
What about the tyre? are maxxis any good, I hate it when all my tyres don't match.
