I've done it. You need a line driver or RCA converter. You put your rear speaker wires into the line driver, this is a small amp and then it sends the signal out via RCA's to your amp. The cheap fix is to use a speaker to RCA converter, only about £10 from ebay, this does the same thing but it isnt self powered and the sound quality isnt the best.

No how 2 mate. I just picked 2 items that I could find quickly on Ebay. I used the RCA converter. I traced the wires from the back of the HU and just cut into them. The rear speaker wires now split in 2, 1 part goes to the speaker and the other to the RCA converter. Most line driver's only accept RCA inputs, what you need is one that takes speaker inputs. You can just run 1 amp and 1 sub, but it would be far better to run an amp for a sub and another for the door speakers. HTH

Line driver also known as a line level converter, fli (midbass) do these and they are pretty good, available at most halfrauds or a1 motorstores...they retail at £15 and are better than the cheap crappy ones off eBay..

Do they have there own power supply?

EDIT: Just looks at the FLI. Yes they are better than the cheap ebay stuff, it still doesn't have its own power supply, so from my understanding it isn't a line Driver/pre amp. The line drivers give a far better quality and stronger signal to your amps.
