    any of you who have experienced static electric may not realise the voltage that you experience,here is a list

    Typical Electrostatic Voltage Levels
    Relative Humidity
    Event .................10% .....40% ...55%
    Walking across carpet 35,000 V 15,000 V 7,500 V
    Walking across vinyl floor 12,000 V 5,000 V 3,000 V
    Motions of bench worker 6,000 V 800 V 400 V
    Removing DIPS from plastic tube 2,000 V 700 V 400 V
    Removing DIPS from vinyl tray 11,500 V 4,000 V 2,000 V

    what would the following be lol


    Pushing a wheel chair around shops in town... then getting a shock every few mins if i touch metal!

    You know those silly rubber strips you see hanging off the backs of cars?

    For people who can't seem to grasp the concept of not swivelling/sliding across the seat as they get out of the car!

    I keep getting a shock of the wifes lips when i kiss her, no a clue why, but hey 13 years and we still have a spark.. lol... beggering hurts though

    One of you is wearing nylon underwear. Stop it now!

    I used to work with some CAD systems that used a digitizing pen that could be destroyed by excess static. Our office had a cheap carpet that built up huge amounts of static and destroyed piles of the things.
    The solution was to regularly spray the office carpet with a 10:1 mix of fabric softener in water. Worked a treat and made it smell nice, too!
