Default Any airbag gurus out there? help!

Hi all, i have got to the stage of repair with my car where i want to turn the air bag light off after being repaired.I have replaced the passenger front seatbelt catch (the bit in between the seat and centre console) as it had deployed. This was the only part of the SRS system i could see that had deployed.I managed to get my mits on a second hand one and fitted it but cant get the airbag light turned off

The local snap on dealer came today with some new shiney solus kit and i asked if he would try and all he got was something along the lines off ....

No communication with steering coloumn module.
Canbus cannot communicate and something to do with squibs?

Should i have replaced the airbag ECU? will that be dead now even though just the seatbelt rocket deployed? Any help greatley appreciated

Right from what i know/did on mine was to replace all deployed airbags, what you've replaced is know as a selt belt pre-tensioner. When the airbag/tensioner goes pop if writes a crash log to the airbag ECU (situated underneath the handbrake almost), tech2 can sometimes clear the deployment record and then reset the fault codes, dont know what the circumstances of what it can and cant clear but it couldnt on mine. I sent my airbag ECU off to be reset by a specialist, it came back a few days later refitted cleared the outstanding codes and the light went off fine
Plasma's Tech2 services are now partially open and able to provide services

So you had the ECU repaired and when you plugged it back in did the light go out straight away or did you then have to go and get the light extinguished?

It didnt go out right away, i had to clear the codes (tech2) what they did was to clear the deployment record which allowed me to clear the codes.

Ah i see and how much if you dont mind me asking was the ECU repair?

And also is tech 2 a vauxhall main dealer only thing and my only option? because the kit my local snap on man has seems to do most things, just dont fancy paying the dealer when i can get the light extingushed for nothing (if i can).

Lemme see if i can find the people i used, was £60 i think, and any diagnostic tool which can access the airbag will be able to clear codes.

    It could be just that
I shouldn't tell you as I've a new airbag module I'd rather sell you
Check all the plugs that plug into the airbags
My light wouldn't go out but turned out to be the n/s seat plug wasnt seated fully
